I’d Like To Teach the World To Sing

First Six Weeks Honors English I Extra Credit 2018

In 1971, the Coca-Cola ad featuring the song “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing” became arguably the “world’s most famous ad” (Washington Post, 2016). The message of peace and hope is unsullied by its commercial use because of the story of its conception. Bill Backer, the creative director of Coca-Cola at the time, had been tasked with creating some radio ads for the product. On the way to London, he was stuck in Ireland by a grounded flight and surrounded by angry travelers.

Backer notes that when he saw his fellow passengers the next morning more relaxed, sharing bottles of Coke, he “began to see a bottle of Coca-Cola as more than a drink that refreshed a hundred million people a day in almost every corner of the globe. ” He had found the idea he wanted to share as he saw people finding a way to be happier enjoying coke. He wanted people to see Coke “as a tiny bit of commonality between all peoples… that would help to keep them company for a few minutes” (Washington Post, 2016).

And as trite as it might sound, history was made.

“So, What’s the Project?” you’re asking now. What would you share with the world? What would you choose to share that you believe would make the world a little happier, a little less divided, just a better place even for a little while?

It could be your favorite food, your favorite book, movie, or television show, you favorite song. It might be something that someone once said to you. But remember, the point is to be positive. Tell us why this thing you’ve chosen would make the world better. Tell us how.

And something else to remember is that you will be sharing your answer here, on this website, for the world to see. So, you will, indeed, be sharing with the world. If you doubt it, I’m posting recent site stats here for you to see that show that we get visitors from across the globe. We definitely get more from the United States that anywhere else, but since I’ve been hosting this site, Logophiles has had over 1,000 international visitors. (This is just the most recent map.)

Proofread! The world is watching!

As always, I’ll go first so that you know what I’m looking for.

And because I just like to write.

I had such a difficult time choosing what I’d share with the world. Would I give everyone a perfect grilled cheese sandwich, my ultimate comfort food? Would I share my love of music by listening to the sweet and peaceful “Lover’s Waltz” by Jay Unger and Molly Mason or some happy, upbeat big band jazz by my favorite band Pink Martini? A book? A movie? No, a television show.

If I could give anything to the whole world, I’d like to share an episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, “The Good Time News,” Season 3, Episode 1, which originally aired on September 16, 1972. So, why a television show? And why one almost fifty years old? Well, it starts with the opening: The theme song by Sonny Curtis, “Love is All Around,” is about hope and expectation. The opening sequence ends with Moore’s character, a young carefree young girl in a big city realizing that she is up to any challenge throwing her hat into the air. Even if I were limited to just a few minutes, those opening moments express such joy and hope, I’d like everyone to realize as the theme says, “Love is all around/ no need to waste it/You can never tell, why don’t you take it/You’re gonna make it after all” (Curtis).

Mary Tyler Moore, Ed Esner, The Good Time NewsBut I chose a particular episode. I chose this episode because it exemplifies the friendship and camaraderie that the crew of WJM share. At one point, Lou and Mary are in a fight because Lou believes that Mary has “sold him out” to upper management over a raise he won’t give her. But she tells him that she doesn’t sell people out, and especially not him. When he asks her why, she replies that she loves him. The gruff Grant is horrified and tells her they can’t fight if she says things like that, and when she insists, he says she wins the fight. It isn’t romantic love; they are friends, real friends. And I would like the whole world to see that kind of friendship.

The episode is also very funny, and I think laughter is one of the greatest gifts humankind has. In this episode, the station management has decided to try a new format for the news program, and the anchorman, Ted, cannot handle it because he is the embodiment of a talking head. He can read the words in front of him, but he doesn’t understand them, so being able to handle a format in which he chats with a co-anchor will not work. He is also not personable, and he is very jealous at having to give up some of his glory as sold anchorman.

To offset Ted’s off-putting personality, they choose a very charming person, but Ted is unaware that he is playing the straight man. When he finds out, he says, “I have personality too!” to which Mary replies,”No, Ted, you don’t.” He then begins bickering with he co-anchor, only to have the co-anchor inform him, “Uh, Ted, we’re on the air.” The entire broadcast is a debacle, resulting in numerous complaints. I have watched this show literally hundreds of times, and I laugh every time. No matter how blue I have been, I always feel better after watching it. I’d like to share this simple, fun, innocent show with the world because sometimes we just all need to laugh.

The Mary Tyler Moore Show was also a groundbreaking show for civil rights, showing Mary as a single woman finding satisfaction in her job, presenting African Americans on equal footing with the White Americans at a time that neither of these was common on television. The show tackled difficult social issues with humor, but sensitivity, letting America know that it’s okay to discuss topics that were once thought to be taboo.

I would like everyone in the world to know that it’s alright to discuss difficult topics, that true friendship is the most important thing in life, that laughter can make us feel better, and that we can all make it after all.

So, now, what would you share and why? Tell the world in your comments.

I would share one of my favorite books/book series, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, with the world because; it is an odd and very different book that has a good message and a lovely sense of humor. The book starts by introducing you to a very normal man named Arthur Dent, he from our planet Earth and his house is about to be bulldozed. Literally a couple minutes later Arthur and his best friend Ford Prefect (who is actually a humaniod alien) have hitchhiked their way onto a Vogon ship, one of the ones that have just blown up Earth. Arthur then learns that he is a researcher for a new intergalactic guidebook called the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. After the Vogons discover that they are on the ship they are then dumped into the emptiness of space. A stolen spaceship The Heart of Gold then picks them up in the same place, there they meet Zaphoid Beeblebrox, the idiot president of the universe who stole the ship and ran off, Trillian the only other surviving Earthling and a very smart woman, who Arthur meet at a party a time ago, and then Marvin a depressed andriod who was programmed to have a human emotion, They then go on many adventures together and the book shows that people from many backgrounds or personalities types can become friends, as well as just a normal person who has nothing going their way can soon become important in a snap. Along with heartwarming messages and themes the book is also one of the best for humorous dialogue and strange descriptions for instance; “The ships hung in the air in a way bricks don’t.” The book is an all around laugh and good read, I think it should be shared with world because of its oddity and heartwarming stories. After all the world needs a good laugh every now and again.

One thing I would love to share with the world is the group Bangtan Sonyeondan, or BTS for short. BTS is a Korean pop (K-pop) group consisting of seven members: Kim Namjoon (RM), Kim Seokjin (Jin), Min Yoongi (Suga), Jung Hoesok (J-Hope), Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung (V), and Jeon Jungkook. The group debuted back in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment with the single “No More Dream”.
The reason I want to share them with the world is because of how inspiring, kind, caring, and motivational they are to millions of people all over the world. Their fan base, the Adorable Representative M.C for Youth (A.R.M.Y) and the group itself are like one big family. The messages in their songs are very empowering. Some example of this include: “Go Against the Norm”, “Live Your Best Life”, “Follow Your Own Dream”, and much more. They write their lyrics about serious topics like conformity, mental illness, relationships with other people, and other topics as well.
BTS treats every fan with such high regard, and any of them would gladly take a bullet for A.R.M.Y. all over the world. Yoongi, one of the rappers, bought every shelter and homeless center boxes of Korean beef and vegetables for the patrons to enjoy. Namjoon, the leader, is fluent in English, and helps the other members speak it, so they can talk to their International Fans. They are honestly such a great group of guys with a kind message to spread.
This K-pop group is very special to me in ways one couldn’t even fathom. BTS inspires people, youth and adults alike, everyday. That is why I want to share them with the world. As they always say, “Love Myself, Love Yourself.”

What a lovely message! I wish more musical groups had the goal of being uplifting. I just don’t understand it when I see musical groups who are so focused on misery and reinforcing awful things. I think music can touch us in ways that words alone can’t, so finding uplifting music is so important. I’m glad you chose this!

When I began thinking of what I wanted to share with the world I had many things conjure up in my mind. I could share my love for pinto beans and cornbread, a classic southern meal, or I could share my love for the movie “up”. Instead, I chose to share my favorite television show, The Office, to share with the world. The Office is an NBC comedy about people in their modern office and their personalities. The reason I would like to share this show is because the different personalities of all the characters blend together and make the perfect television comedy. Dwight is a crazy beet farmer, Stanley is a grumpy old man, and Micheal is a crazy boss who sees his employees as his best friends. The show is funny because the jokes are more stupid then comedic and go along with the characters personalities. One example, is in Season 6, Ep. 1 when the craze at the time was parkour. Michael, Dwight, and Andy decided that they needed to contribute to the craze and make a video of them in their office setting doing “parkour”, screaming “parkour” every time they jump onto something. This joke shows the character’s personalities exactly, Micheal is honestly stupid, and Dwight and Andy go along with Michael to be his favorite. Not only does the show produce laughs, it also produces the “awwwww” factor. Pam, the office receptionist, and Jim, the office prankster have obvious feelings for each other, but Pam is engaged. As the show progresses, Jim and Pam’s relationship grows and they get married in season 5. The Office is a more real comedy that not only produces laughs, but also smiles. The world might be a little happier if everyone knew to watch The Office.

I’m definitely a comedy fan. Most of what I watch are comedies. I think watching something that we can laugh at gives us a chance to step back from our worries and realize that it’s not as bad as we think, and sometimes that’s more important than it sounds.

If I could share something with the world, it would be my favorite TV show Parks and Recreation. Specifically season 4 episode 10. In the previous episode, Leslie, the main character, had been suspended from her job for dating her coworker Ben, even though there was a strict rule against it. One thing you should know about Leslie is that she has a passion for her work in the Parks Department and she wouldn’t let the suspension stop her from finishing up some work. She arrives very early to her office to retrieve some papers from her computer to a flash drive, but before she can leave she is found by her boss, Chris, while he was going out for an early morning run. Chris asks for the flash drive and Leslie runs away before he can get it. Even though he didn’t have to, Ben decided to resign from his job to be with Leslie. This is when I knew they would be together throughout the rest of the seasons. Every year for Christmas, Leslie gets everyone the best presents they could think of and this year they wanted to return the favor. They were stumped on what to get her but finally they thought of an idea, a gingerbread version of their Parks and Rec office. Everyone decided to make little candy decorations for their own office. Leslie is also running for city counselor of Pawnee, Indiana. Her advisers want her to stay out of the spotlight until they can figure out the effect of her suspension from the department. Leslie being as passionate as she is, she decided to start a committee to fix things that are wrong with the parks. The committee decides to go a parks department meeting and demand the department fix their problems. Leslie thought the outcome was great for their first meeting and even gained a few members. Leslie meets with her advisers again, and they have bad news, her poll numbers have gone from 26 percent to 1 percent in a little less than 2 days. He advisers quit on her and she’s left hopeless. Leslie leaves to go to lunch with her best friend Ann, who also works in the parks department. Ann reassured her by telling her that everything is going to be all right. This is the reason I picked this episode. I love how caring, loving, and supportive they are toward each other. They always find a way to make things better. Leslie has a talk with Chris, and he gives her a Christmas present, her suspension has been lifted. It’s finally time to reveal the gingerbread office, and she loves it, but that not all. The group surprises her by helping her run for city council. Again, the support that they give and love that they show her makes this one of my favorite episodes and I would like to share it with the world.

I think that people would gain a sense of appreciation for their friends and family. They do things for us that we could never repay them for. This is also why I think that the show would make the world better. Friends make us laugh and help us when we are feeling down. Family gives us what we need to grow and become who we are today.

I’d like to teach the world to clean up the trash that they produce.

The world produce 2.6 trillion pounds of trash per year…. that’s a lot one person produce four and a half of trash a day and recycle one and a half pounds a day. 2.6 trillion pounds is almost 7,000 Empire State Building, where does all this trash go ? Most of the trash goes to landfills for solid waste. Some cities recycle almost all of there trash… but eventually we will have landfills all over the place because they will get full and then they need to find another place to make one…. That could be in a middle of a city or it could be in your back yard. The recycle center only handles 25.6 percent of the trash and the landfills have 52.25 percent of the trash.

How to stop filling the world with trash ?
New York produce a lot of trash…but in 2024 they will develope the Hudson yards and that is ( Six skyscrapers, 5,000 apartments, more than 100 stores and a public school) but it will not have an municipal garbage trucks. Try to have smarter leftovers and try to recycle and use recycle products. We could detract the products that can’t be recycled. Eventually we could diminish landfills around the US and the world. Some landfills have constraints on trash they receive a day. We need to consolidate the senators and they need to argue about how to save the world from trash. Then they could cultivate a plan for the whole world.

Well, I totally agree that we have a problem with garbage, but what you gave is, in essence, something else for people to stress out about and worry about. Did you read the examples? As I looked at the Coke example, I saw that he wanted to make people relax and be happy, even for a little while, so that’s what I did. You kind of missed that. I do appreciate the vocabulary words, though.

How about this? Read over what your classmates did, and then submit something that would make the world happy and offer some relief from thinking about this garbage issue? Submit by Monday night.

I could have chosen many different things to share with the world to make it a better place and to make people happy. I thought about giving everyone a box of chocolate chunk brownies, one of my favorite desserts! I could have shared the excitement of riding a horse, which is probably my MOST favorite thing to do! But, in the end, I decided to share the experience I had of going on a mission trip. It made my world a better place and brought happiness to me because of the teamwork within our youth group, relationships formed, and changes in perspective.
In June, I was able to experience one of the best weeks of my life. My church’s (First Baptist Sevierville) youth group traveled to Clarksdale, Mississippi for a mission trip. When we got there, we split into teams made up of 8th-12th-grade students. Each team went to two different housing projects every day. At each location, we held a backyard Bible club for the kids that live there. We spent time with the children doing crafts, recreation, teaching a Bible story and then serving them a snack. At the end of each day, our youth group would come together to give a report back of the day. It was great getting to work with other students in my youth group that I might not normally talk to or hang out with. Now we are friends because of the time spent together serving the kids of Clarksdale.
While in Clarksdale, our youth group made tight bonds with the children that attended the backyard Bible clubs. Many of the children wanted and needed a lot of love. They latched onto us within the first few minutes and enjoyed the time and attention we were giving them. The girls would ask to fix our hair or to give them piggyback rides. Of course, we would say, Yes! Our team was already loving these kids more than we had expected to. The color of skin did not matter to us or to them. We were all just enjoying the love that was shared through the time spent together and the friendships being made. The world is so racially divided. If all the people of the world could go on a mission trip I believe they would see each other in a different way, a better way.
Going on a mission trip would change the world’s perspective on material possessions. Many of the families that are in Clarksdale live in either low-income housing projects or very small, run-down homes. They do not have many material things either. I think our culture takes many things for granted. Our houses, clothing, food, and electronics to name a few. The people in Clarksdale are so happy with what little they do have. If everyone could go to a place where the people do not have very much and still see the happiness and contentment, I think it would change their own perspective. Before going to Clarksdale, I took many things for granted. Seeing all the children being so happy and having so little really opened my eyes. So, if the world was able to go on a mission trip it would most likely change their perspective.
Clarksdale was one of the best weeks of my life, and I would love to share the experience of going on a mission trip with the world. Forming relationships within my youth group, building friendships with the kids of Clarksdale, MS, and gaining a new perspective about material possessions are what gave me happiness for that week in June and for the rest of my life. I went on the trip to go and bless the children in MS, but my life was the one that was actually blessed! I can’t wait to go back next year and see their smiling faces!

If I was given the opportunity to give the whole world something to make them happy, I would need to think long and hard about what I would give them. After thinking long and hard, I decided to give the world a song called Everything’s Gonna Be Alright by Bob Marley because it helps everyone stay positive and it is a good song. Bob marley has wrote many great songs but none better than Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.

Everyday society goes to work, school, or encounters some sort of stress in their life. All of these seem to weigh heavy on individuals and bring them down. When they come home they want to have something that will make them feel better. Everything’s Gonna Be Alright by Bob Marley is that song. The song starts off with Bob Marley waking up and seeing that there are three little birds perched on hhs doorstep. These birds start giving Bob Marley a message that everything is going to be alright. If everyone heard this message everyday when they woke up they would have a more positive outlook on the day. This song embodies Bob Marley, Bob Marley would write songs about Jamaica like it was the greatest place on Earth. While I’m sure in his eyes it was, in reality it was full of poverty. This song helps inspire people that everything is going to get better. It makes a lot of people’s minds go to ease. The first time I ever heard this song was on the radio right after we had lost a soccer championship game. My mind went to ease, I stopped worrying about the game and I thought everything is going to be alright. No matter how bad your day has been Everything’s Gonna Be Alright by Bob Marley will cheer you up.

Sometimes Reggae music gets a bad reputation due to where it is most famous from originating from. Everything’s Gonna Be Alright by Bob Marley is not like that at all it is actually a good song. It has a good beat and doesn’t talk nonsense. It also has a very good motto which helps the song sound even better. The motto of the song is so catchy that no matter what is going on people can’t keep from singing along. All most every single person knows the lyrics but they don’t take them to heart. If they were to take these lyrics to heart everything would be better. I’m not a music expert and I do not like many songs but I enjoy this song.

Sometimes the world can be a gruesome place. Everything’s Gonna Be Alright by Bob Marley is what I would give the world because it help everyone stay positive and it has a good motto. No matter what is going on in your life just remember, every little thing is gonna be alright.

Determining what to share with the whole world can be quite complicated, especially when it can be anything at all. While thinking about what to write, there were many things that crossed my mind such as my favorite bible verse, song, and even my favorite vacation place. After thinking about it, I decided that I wanted to share something more personal. So what would it be? I came to the conclusion to share my experiences of the Gatlinburg Wildfires, which occurred on November 28, 2016, and the impacts that it made on my life.

There are unfortunate events that happen all the time around the world, including a great number in which we don’t even know about. For example, Hurricane Florence is hitting the East Coast of the United States right now where so many people’s lives will be affected. Throughout my life my family has always helped other people in whatever ways we can. For instance, my parents have both gone to the Dominican Republic multiple times to visit schools, do service projects, and lead mission trips. They also got child sponsors that each sponsor a child from schools in the DR to provide them money to have an education and meals throughout the day. At Christmas, at my church in my hometown in Indiana, the youth group puts together shoe boxes that include items such as coloring books, toys, tooth brushes, and toiletries that are sent all across the world for children who do not receive any gifts. Not in a million years did I ever think that I would be in the situation of needing other people’s help.

After losing my house in the Gatlinburg Wildfires, my life was changed abruptly. I went from having everything I needed, such as clothes, a bedroom, decorations, food, money, etc., to literally having nothing at all. I never imagined losing all of my belongings that very day in such a tragic event. Even when I had to evacuate my house, it never once occurred to me that I would never enter that house again. I had never been in the situation of needing other peoples’ help so I had no idea what it felt like until now.

All around Sevier County there were people providing necessities such as clothes, water, and toiletries for people in need. Many people were taking an abundant amount of clothes but for me, it felt absurd to take even just one thing, thinking that other people would need it more than my family would. Families and people from my school, Pittman Center, and church, Pathways, gave us a countless amount of money and gift cards to buy all new items. There were multiple clean up groups, including students from Purdue University, that came to our house and sifted through the ashes and cut down dead trees on our property. The Dolly Parton Foundation also provided many families with large amounts of money each month. My brothers friends’ parents were the directors of a church camp down the road, called Wafloy, They were able to provide us a cabin to live in, free of charge, for almost a year while our new house was being built. I also want to include that my family would not have been able to get through any of this without God being there with us the whole time! We are so blessed to have met so many amazing friends through this catastrophe. There are so many people that we would most likely have never met if it weren’t for the situation that we were in and there are still people that we will never be able to thank for everything that they have done for our family.

Our goal, as a family, is to continue to help anyone to pay forward the deed of serving others and to show how thankful we are for everyone that was there for us when we needed it. Since the devastating disaster, we have helped our friends move and unpack into their new house. I, personally, have helped by working the concession stand multiple times at my brothers basketball and baseball games, and by cooking all week for one of the church camps that was staying at Wafloy and we also plan to help more people in bigger ways than just those few. In the near future I feel a great desire to be a teacher and I want to help change children’s lives, and even people in general, in order for them to live a better life and to encourage them to feel the same way about serving others as my family does. I also would like to do missionary work not only at my church and in my community but also travel around the world to do service in other countries, like my parents.

All in all, helping others should not feel like a punishment or you should not feel like you have to help someone because they helped you. You should want to serve others and put them before yourself! When you are serving others no only does it make them happy, but it makes you feel and look like a better person to others so you are setting an example. We can learn to be a leader to get others to follow in our footsteps of doing good. Keep the good deed going by paying it forward to others!

    2 Chronicles 15:7
“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”

I know it may sound cliche, but I really did struggle with the idea of gifting everyone in the world the same gift, sentimental to vikings, to prisoners of Azkaban, and most importantly myself. How could one be certain that this gift would please everyone? One couldn’t, and they would have to trust. This is something that most people lack these days but will hopefully be restored soon. Everyone is different. Would one pick something shallow and meaningless, taken for granted, something deep, personal, meaningful, and even a little enlightening? I don’t know if one would call it a risk, chance, or roll of the dice, but I call it mutual encouragement, encouragement to make the world a better place. I choose something small, something that could even be seen as nothing, but it could make a big, big impact: mail.

If I could share and bestow the world with one simple gift to every person in the whole wide world, I choose a postage stamp with a letter attached to it. The whole concept circles around encouragement. Maybe encouragement to meet new people, discover new parts of the world or yourself, or piece the world back together into one planet again, not the seven continents we are named by. Even encouragement to connect with our fellow “roomies” in this vast world wide apartment. At the end of each letter, I want everyone to write, “Encouragement to blank“, and let the recipient fill in the blank. I wish for this to be an opportunity for people to unleash and spill their inner beauty into this letter only for the recipient to come to tears when they open and read this magnificent masterpiece. I wish for them to change how they look at certain situations based solely upon them knowing that there is more than one person, one brain, one opinion, one molecule, one different aspect to everything, but only one planet. I hope they let this change, driven by encouragement, bring a change in the world as we know it.

There are many components in this piece of mail. The postage stamp is one of them. The postage stamp is how we recognize that the mail has already been paid for. In the idea of everyone sending and receiving a piece of mail from different parts of the world from and to a stranger, one only invests a few cents, depending on how big the letter, into sending it to the recipient. This is really investing in humanity, to open up and take in a little. One has to invest a little so the greater purpose gains an immeasurable value. By sending the letter, one is encouraging contribution to the whole picture. In this very special letter, the postage stamp should be a place somewhere you have never been and somewhere you long to be.

Hopefully this will start with a small gesture and end with an enormous impact. I would like everyone to step outside their little bubble and share something else with everyone in the world or encourage someone else through this letter. So, in my letter, that would have a picture of Iceland on the stamp, I would like to include how it is important it is for me to see everyone else looking or noticing things that aren’t always black and white, not everything in life is going to be easy or straightforward. However, anyone can get through it and will encourage someone in their lives to do something or think outside of the box. And at the end of my letter I will write “Encouragement to… blank” and will confidently get some very creative answers. What would you write?

I had the same problem you had, Mrs. Rains. For me there are many things I would love to share with the world, like the love of Liv and Maddie, my favorite TV show, and my mom’s delicious homemade bread, but the thing I would most want to share with the world is the ability to play any kind of sport. I feel terrible knowing that people don’t have the physical ability to run, swim, play basketball and all other kinds of sports. I know what your thinking: “Sam, you can pick anything, and you pick this.” Now, here are my reasons: I absolutely love to exercise because it makes me feel good, and it helps when you get older, but I abhor people who make fun of others who are fat or can’t lift as much as they can; it is absurdly unacceptable. It absolutely demoralizes their integrity and their goals. Now my other reason is that I feel awful for the people who can’t physically do sports. I am very lucky that God gave me the ability to run, swim and play basketball. Many people can’t comprehend that it’s often not their fault that they can’t do sports because they have a disability or don’t have the coordination that other star sports players have. Now I know that if a person could play a sport just as good as everybody else, there would be no competition. They don’t have to be as good as everybody else, but I don’t want people to be left out. I want to eliminate animosity between people so they can enjoy the competition sports. People need to accept that sometimes other people can’t play sports, or they don’t enjoy sports. It is vital that you respect other people’s decisions.

I believe that if the world was like The Good Place for only a day the world would be a lot happier. In The Good Place this women named Eleanor Shellstrop died and was brought to the so called “The Good Place” which was really Hell A man was waiting for Eleanor the creator of “The Good Place.” He said everything anyone had ever done in ones life is added and subtracted so when you die if you have a negative number they will go to hell if you have a positive number you go to the good place. In the show the creator says that you will also meet your soul mate. When Eleanor meets all these so called perfect people who have never done anything wrong. Eleanor feels like she should have went to a different place because she’s different than the rest. As the show progresses it is shown that she is the only one to confess all her flaws when everyone else covers them up. By the end of the first season it shows that really all the people in the town were really in hell. They were put there to torture each other. I believe if we lived like how the characters in the show for only one day we would be better people. Why do I think if the world was run like this for only a day people would be better. It would show that everything you do in your life has either a negative or a positive effect on your life. If we got put in a town with people who thought were perfect people who really were just the same as us. We could learn that everyone is the same they may look like they are these perfect people but really they have done bad things just like us. Also, to find out that you really are in the bad place would change most people would change their lifestyles so they get to go to the actual good place. I believe that if we did this for only one day the world would be a better place.

I’ve watched this show, and I really enjoy it. Unfortunately, your response is not quite what the assignment called for: I really wanted the thing you share to be something you love and want to share as a purely positive thing. This is something that carries with it a threat of punishment, which is not quite in the spirit of the assignment. Did you read my example and the Coke example? Neither of them had a threat, implicit or implied, in them; they were just sharing joy.

You would probably think I would share something personal, like something someone once told me. You would think I would share a quote from a book. But, I am not. I actually want everyone to know about the song “High Hopes” from Panic! At the Disco. It is very inspirational and it can teach you to keep moving on no matter what.
High Hopes came out just this year. In the song it mentions inspirational things like “mama said don’t give up, it’s a little complicated.” Or my personal favorite “didn’t have a dime but I always had a vision. Always had high, high hopes.” It tells the story of a man struggling to get his life together, but ends up being alright in the end. It was voted most inspirational song of the year.
I want the world to know about this song because it can really help you when you are going through tough times. It is a song that helped me when I was feeling down, and I want it to help you as well. Most of us have those days where you feel useless, or not complete. This song will show you that you are worth something, and to never give up on your hopes and dreams.
I also want everyone to know about this song just because it is happy. It gives you this feeling of joy due to the beat itself. It is a great party song just to dance to. I believe that someone being jolly and smiling is amazing because one smile could make anyone’s day.
High Hopes is one of the most moving songs of the year. Not only will it get you on your feet and dance, it will also show you that not everything has to be so complicated. I think it is a great song that the world needs to know about. I say you give it a listen; you won’t be disappointed.

If I could share one thing with the world, I would definitely choose the last book in the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Of course, if I could, I would share the entire book series with the world, but I chose this specific book for two reasons. Firstly, it brings about the power of friendship. This may sound cliche, but it is definitely something that I feel the world needs. The other reason is that it shows love overcoming tragedy. These two things are the main reasons that I feel the world could positively benefit from reading these books.
In order to fully explain how the book brings about the power of friendship, I must go back to the very first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s (Philosopher’s) Stone. In this book, Harry finds out he is a wizard and is taken on a journey to Hogwarts, a wizarding school in London. At first, he has trouble finding friends that don’t want to talk to him just because of his scar, which he received when he survived the death spell from Lord Voldemort. As everyone was gushing over him because of his fame, Harry searched for true friends. His first friend was Ronald Weasley. Of course, Ron was excited to be talking to the Harry Potter, but after getting used to being with him, they became best friends. Then came Hermione Granger. Hermione paid no attention to Harry’s scar. At first, the two disliked her, but they soon included her in their group. With her, they became the Golden Trio. Now, back to the last book. The power of friendship is simply shown by the trio still being together, but it does go a bit deeper than this. Even after several years of school together, the group is just as close as it was in the beginning of the series, if not closer. Many amicable relationships are lost simply because of rumors or losing connection. Multiple world problems could be solved if our friends and allies didn’t turn into enemies. Each person in the group saves another one at one point in the book. For example, when Death Eaters, Lord Voldemort’s supporters showed up at Bill Weasley’s wedding, Hermione was quick to grab Harry and Ron and apparate away from the scene to a safe place. This shows how important friendships can be throughout one’s life. If the world was reminded of all the good people and friends in the world, we would be far more united. Although they had their arguments, the friends always forgave each other. This is important to the world because many friendships are lost because of a simple argument. The book teaches the world that friendships are also about forgiveness. The power of friendship clearly shines in the book, and I feel that the world could realize how important friendship is through this book.
The book also shows that, even through tragedy, love can show itself at even the darkest of times. At the very end of the book, Lord Voldemort attacks Hogwarts. As Slytherin, one of the houses, joins Voldemort, the other three houses join forces to defeat the Dark Lord and restore the peace in the wizarding world. Even though some of the people in the houses were complete enemies, they still came together to win the war. Another example of love through the tragedy is Harry and Ginny’s relationship. In the first book, Ginny, Ron’s little sister and the last of the Weasley’s, is completely in love with Harry because of his scar. However, by the last book, Harry and Ginny are in, what seems to be, an unbreakable relationship. One of the most important scenes to be is when Harry and Ginny share a kiss before going on to battle separately. Even though the war is approaching rapidly, they show their love for each other with that kiss. I feel that this is important for the world to see because many people forget about love when there is tragedy in the world. Love seems to be lost in a time of crisis. We need to be reminded of all the good little things of the world in order to see all the love in the world. The war at Hogwarts was an atrocity, but love fought through that.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the last book in the Harry Potter series, is the one thing that I chose to share with the world. It shows how important friendship is and how love can still be found through tragedy. The world could truly benefit from this book and these two topics that it presents.

The world we live in today is divided in so many ways. People argue over religion, politics, etc. Some people are homeless and have no jobs. There are so many problems in the world today that cause people to become divided. There’s one thing that can bring people together though. One thing that I would share with the world to make it a happier place is music. Music is a great way to bring people together. Music can bring people happiness. Whenever I am sad or angry, I want to isolate myself from everyone else, but if I listen to one of my favorite songs then I actually begin to feel happy. I have been given the gift to sing and the love for music. I have experience things through music that a lot of people haven’t. I can say that music can bring people together. Music can happiness to those who don’t receive any happiness. If I could go around the world and sing for people that are having a bad, I would. You never know what music can do to a person’s life.
Music can help the world with being less divided by bringing people together. I personally listen to different styles of music and love the culture behind them. Some of the styles of music I listen to is Korean, Japanese, and sometimes Latin. I love the culture behind these different styles of music because it shows how different people are in the world and to me that is a beautiful thing. I know people who likes the same styles of music as I do and the music brings us closer. My sister and I love music and we have became a lot closer because of music. One last thing that music can do is bring people happiness.
Music can brighten a person’s day. Like I said earlier, I could be having a bad day, but then listen to my favorite song and it puts me in a better mood. Music can put people into better moods and bring them together. I sing at my church and with me singing puts other people in a better mood and makes them smile. That makes me happy that I’m making other people happy. Music is what I would share with the world so that the world would be less divided, more happier, and a better place.

If I could share one thing with the world it would be the thirteen-part documentary series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. Hosted by the acclaimed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, this 2014 reboot of the original Cosmos: A Personal Voyage hosted by Carl Sagan takes us on a journey throughout the stars. In Cosmos, Dr. Tyson takes us on his “Ship of the Imagination” which can travel from the largest of galaxies to the smallest of cells. The pilot episode entitled “Standing Up In The Milky Way” shows us our place in this vast and extravagant universe by “zooming out” on Earth. Dr.Tyson also does an excellent job of explaining “The Cosmic Calendar”. This is a theoretical calendar that condenses all known events from the beginning of time to the present day into a single cosmic year. Although it may sound it, Cosmos is not just a documentary about space and astronomy. It covers various topics such as biology, physics, chemistry, and phycology. It also covers our scientific past, present, and future through animation that captures the viewer and keeps them engaged. It also covers us what we can accomplish as a species and how we should do it.
Now, why would I share this with the world? Aside from being an extremely entertaining and intellectual show, it can become very emotional and inspiring. I have always been fascinated by science and the natural world around me from a very young age, and Cosmos has definitely sparked my curiosity. Science has always been about the pursuit of knowledge to further our definition of our natural world. I think that Cosmos may spark the curiosities of many and show them that we are all on Earth. I think that if everyone is curious enough we can learn more as a species, which will create common ground for us. I think that Cosmos would be an enlightening experience for some people, showing them that we can grow as a society and we can continue learning.

If I could share anything to make the world happier I would share the travel experiences I have made. In the last few years I have been to places I never thought I would visit. Within the span of these last 4 years I have been to Mexico, Canada, and all but 13 states of the U.S. In each new place I’ve learned about the history and the culture that differ from home. I have also experienced through travel my love of theatre. Last November we went to New York and saw the Thanksgiving parade and the Broadway production of Cats, which I have wanted to see since I was 3 years old. Even now when I’m not traveling I can apply things I’ve learned to everyday life, I can understand history better because when you have actually been to those places you are able to visualize what is being talked about. It also is just an all around fun experience because even if you don’t like nature, or history, or shows there will most likely always be something you do love, or you could find something you love.

It would help overcome many stereotypes if people were able to not only express themselves to others, but also consider how other people behave and live. I believe that people would not only get along better, but also the amount of wars and violent happenings would decrease; because, people wouldn’t assume that a person’s government or religion, etc. defines them as a person.

If I could share anything with the world in order to make it a little happier, less divided, and a better place even for a bit, without a doubt I would share one of my favorite songs and what I consider to be Queen’s “magnum opus”–Bohemian Rhapsody. This song is an anthem for everyone from the snobbiest of music snobs to those with the most “mainstream” tastes. I choose this song as no matter where or when it’s played, it always finds a way to bring together strangers and friends even closer.

The song itself is a collection of four distinct sections. It begins with a choir of Freddie Mercury’s vocals in a verse that is musically reminiscent of works of Impressionist composers. It flows in an almost dream-like sequence until Mercury’s voice is truly brought to the forefront near the end of the section. With this sequence finished, the song transitions into a soft ballad with a now iconic piano accompaniment. This section primarily regards the struggles of the song’s main character/narrator. He laments about his life not being what he wishes to be and asks for forgiveness as he tries to seek an escape. It closes with an EPIC baroque style guitar solo by Dr. Brian May himself and hurdles the listener into a wild and almost euphoric operatic section. Lyrically, this section regards two sides disputing whether the main character is even deserving of forgiveness. Musically, however, this section is a roller coaster ride with brief pauses in action that come back with a wall of sound ending in a crescendo with a massive choir belting. With these heavenly harmonies, the song transitions into its final main section–a hard rock jam. This section commands mastery over major rock components: forceful drumming, a driving guitar riff, a pulsing bass line, and a singer releasing his frustrations in a musical feat that many have described as pure awesome. The song ends in a much softer way calling back to the second section with a beautiful piano piece.

With my rather long winded (and fanboy-ish) summary of the song’s components out of the way, the main reason I chose this song as my submission to what I would share to make the world a bit better is because of its connectivity. Sure, the pure awesomeness of the rock section and countless technical feats in the song are addicting to many music nerds like myself, but this song is much much more important than that. Bohemian Rhapsody provides a message that everyone, no matter age, race, or gender, resonates with. I interpret the song to be about frustration with the world. It describes a feeling that one lies if he or she declares to have never experienced. Other than the song’s message, the song is unreasonably catchy (especially for a piece so complex). The song almost commands one to join in singing to the point that if it is played in a public setting, one will undoubtedly find multiple people singing or humming along. It creates a feeling of togetherness among friends and even strangers.

Bohemian Rhapsody is an astounding song that simultaneously feels written for an individual and society as a whole. I choose this song to share with the world because I believe it is important to know we all have our frustrations, but realizing this is the first step to cooperation and togetherness as a whole.

Sitting here I was trying to think of the many things I would like to share with the world, and the main thing that popped into my head was Mrs. Rains Honors English class. She is not one of those teachers that just sits there making you do work straight out of the book. She gives us groups, and we do very fun activities. In my group I am the Monark which is the leader of my group. Her class is one of the hardest classes that I have ever taken, but she really makes me think. Mrs. Rains and her Honors English class definitely prepares you for college.
Even though her class is very hard, it will really help you in the future. The literature she introduces to you is absolutely amazing and will not only help you become a better reader but will also help you view the world differently. You get to see different perspectives through these stories. Everything she does in some way improves your language skills and better prepares you for the ACT. That is the reason students at Gatlinburg-Pittman often score high on their ACT. Anytime you can find a teacher like Mrs. Rains you should be thankful for the opportunity to sign up for her class.
When you hear the name Mrs. Rains, you automatically think of vocabulary. Mrs. Rains’ vocabulary tests are legendary because of how hard they are. They can range anywhere from 50 to 70 questions, and they really make you think critically about your answer. The first time I saw the test my eyes popped open, and in my head I thought to myself, “I am going to fail!” I made a 69, but I knew this was just a learning opportunity. The next week I made an 86 which was much better. The point is that even though the tests are really hard, I improved and am learning a lot of new words that I didn’t know before. This will help me understand stories and do better on tests that I would have previously had a hard time comprehending.
Not only is Mrs. Rains’ class educational, but it is equally entertaining. What I have heard from past students is that Mrs. Rains could literally win America’s Got Talent by singing. I am still anxiously waiting to see one of her performances. She is always messing with us and joking around. Do not say that new country music is good, because Mrs. Rains will have something to say to you, trust me. At the end of the day, her class is always in good spirits, because of the fun that she has added to the class.
In my opinion Mrs. Rains is the best English teacher you could have and this is what I would like to share with the world. I have never known of anyone with a vocabulary like hers. I have also never heard of an Honors English class that is so challenging also be so enjoyable. If all classes could be as educational and fun as Mrs. Rains’ class, I think it would definitely make the world a better place. She has the perfect balance of academics and fun.

If I could share one thing with the whole world it would be a book. Not just any book though, but the greatest book of all time. The Bible. Having been exposed to the scripture and teachings of the Bible my whole life, I hold this book near and dear to my heart. I have seen the word of Christ work in ways I could have never even imagined before I saw them before my very eyes.
Having grown up in the church I’ve always known what the Bible meant to Christians and to my family. From a young age we were taught at church arguably the most important verse in the Bible, John 3:16. In John 3:16 it says “That for God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall never die, but have eternal life.” For many this verse is a great starting point for trying to start a faith in Christ. It so simply explains how vast God’s love is for us. The Bible teaches so many crucial lessons that push Christians to live a better life. John 3:16 can always hit me home whenever I’m feeling lost and angry with God because it is a constant reminder that no matter how angry I may be with God, He will never stop loving me.
The Bible shares one overall message. That message is Peace within Christ. The scripture in the Bible is constantly pushing to be better people and to be better Christians. Matthew 22:39 says, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Simply enough this means that no matter who someone is, we should care for them no matter their beliefs. Not once in the Bible, does it say to love everyone, but to discriminate against the LGBTQ community, or anyone who has a different skin color than you, or even has different view points than you. God created everyone in His own image and cares about everyone as much as He cares for the next person.
I believe that if everyone had a Bible in the world. it would be a more peaceful and loving place. The Bible brings hope into even the darkest lights and the worst days. There is always one piece of scripture that can brighten up your day and make the world seem a little bit better.

When you think about what could share with the world to make it a happier, what comes to your mind? When I think about what I could share with everyone to make the world happier, I think of my favorite movie of all time, God’s Not Dead. This very inspiring movie tells the story of Josh Wheaton. He is a first time college student who is a Christian. One of his professors, , is an atheist. On the first day of class, he tells every student about his beliefs and tells them to take out a piece of paper and write the words “God is Dead.” Josh Wheaton, being a strong believer in God, refuses to do the assignment given. The professor makes a deal with Josh. He has the end of every class session to prove that God is not dead.

Approximately 16.3 percent of people today do not believe there is a God or have any religion at all, but that not does not mean this is not an important subject to discuss. The 16.3 percent believe that the human race was created from monkeys or that Earth was formed in a giant ball of fire known as The Big Bang, but Josh would soon go on to make his entire class of over eighty people believe there is a God. Josh explains how God wants everyone to make their own choice and the professor is not letting the students make their own choice. He soon finds out the professor does not believe in God because God took his mother away. Josh asks the professor “Why do you hate God?.” The professor answers with “Because he took everything away from me.” Josh states, “How do you hate someone that does not exist.” The professor is miserable without any faith. With faith comes happiness and reassurance. God has a reason for everything. For example Professor Radisson’s mother’s death could have inspired someone who never had any faith at all to believe there is a God. Another example might be a car crash. If someone else loses their life for you, then you might believe God has given you a second chance to change your ways. I know of one man who was in prison. He used to quote “smoke the bible.” He would tear out the pages and light them like a cigarette, but one day a verse caught his eye. The verse was Joshua 1:9. It states, “for the Lord God will be with you wherever you go.” The man sat down and started to read the Bible. He changed his way, got out of prison, and became a preacher.

I have talked to my parents many times because I am only a kid and have a hard time understanding it myself, but after my father got into a motorcycle crash, I started to understand a little more. My father could have died. He should have with his injuries, but in less than a month he was up and moving again. I believe God allowed him to keep his life, so he can help me and even my brother and sister to understand God’s will better. Even though not everyone believes in the same god, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have faith at all. Someone is watching over you at all times. How else do you explain miracles?

I believe if anyone watches this movie they will understand the view that some Christians have. Some people say you can’t explain God so they don’t believe. This movie really explains certain things such as why people believe in the Big Bang, but how that was God’s work as well. This movie inspired me and I believe it can inspire other people. This is why I believe if more people watch the movie it can make the world happy.

The thing I would share with the world is the importance of how animals can make you live happier. Animals play a key role in making many people feel happy in life. Animals show love and affection, and help us with special tasks. For example, police use dogs to help catch criminals or search for missing people. We have farm animals for food and milk, or wool if you grow sheep. Most people get dogs and cats as house pets for them and their children. Dogs are said to be a man’s best friend and are really playful and caring towards their owners. If you need a nap or bedtime buddy you could get a cat. Cats can be very lovely pets to have in your house and are great companions. When they are only kittens, they are very playful, but when they get older cats can sometimes slow down a little. Like all animals you must treat them right or else they won’t care about you if you don’t care about them. So if you get animals make sure you take good care of them and then they will love you forever.
Animals have been very important in my life. I love cats, dogs, and others. Right now I have 4 dogs and 11 cats. Seven of those cats will be receiving a new home. I also have two bunnies. I had three, but unfortunately, one of them died recently. About 3 months ago, I moved out here from Los Angeles California. I had a ranch where I had the three bunnies, four dogs, and four cats as well as three horses and a donkey. When I was very young, we had a horse named Hershey who was my personal horse. My sister had the donkey and my parents had the other two horses. Around when I was 7 years old, Hershey died and I was very sad but I moved on and got another horse named Cutter. He was old but very loving. I also was taking care of the donkey. When I would go up to him he would wrap his neck around me hugging me. I had a cat when I was four, named Kiki. He walked out of the bushes one day and would only let me touch him. Eventually though he accepted my whole family. One day we went to the vet and learned he had diabetes, which eventually killed him. We loved him so much that we treated him with daily insulin shots and many vet visits. We were all really sad when he left us. I was 10 and I eventually got my new cat Cuddles who is still with me. When we moved out here a stray cat who we named Ghost came into our life. We named her that because she would disappear during the day and would show up at night for food. We eventually learned that she was pregnant. Three weeks ago, she had seven little kitties, which totals up to us having eleven. They are walking around doing great.
One thing that came with the move is that we had to downsize. We had to give our two horses to my mom’s western movie star friend. Our donkey had died a year earlier due to liver failure. We have all our dogs and cats and we love each and every one of them. We take care of our animals with love and affection and they love us back. It makes us happy to play with the dogs and sleep with our cats who also like to play. I chose this topic because animals have been very important in my life. They have made me happy ever since I was a little boy and I hope that people can understand them and love them just as much as I do. I would also want the world to know why mistreating animals is wrong. If we mistreat animals then we are mistreating God’s creation. Now I am not including raising livestock for food. We need food! However, mistreating house pets and torturing them is wrong. I really believe that more people in this world will be happier if they understand and love animals.

That’s sad because then they can’t really spend the time a kid needs with a parent figure in there childhood. The gym is like a home to me… There is always a way to spend time just make it happen. How you can just go to bed earlier and wake up earlier and go to the gym. My dad has always been adjacent to me in my life. Most trainers are affable to their students. After you get on a chronic routine it will make your life easier. After a while it will conjure that toughness you need for you the rest of the day. Never contemplate getting up to spend time with your dad.

This is a lovely idea. I like that you would share your time with your dad. So many children do not have supportive parents, and if they did, their lives could turn out differently. As you think about this positive influence your dad has in your life, think about how awful it would be without that wonderful time you share, and think about how many children don’t have anything like this…and then think about what a lovely gift you have chosen to give in sharing this. How wonderful it would be if we could really share these things.

To me, equality is one of the most important things on this planet and I feel that it should be recognized by everyone. In recent times, equality has become more prevalent all over the world, but is still not as complete as it should be. Whether the differences are color, sexuality, gender, financial state, religion, or anything else, I believe God has made us to all to be the same, and today many people agree and support this great idea. However, it has not always been that way.

Equality is not a new idea. The Holy Bible refers to our attitudes toward each other and in the book of Philippians 2:3, it states “Let each person esteem others better than themselves.” Notice it states “others” and does not specify something like “every white man” or “everyone except women because they aren’t as good as men.” Despite the fact that we were all created equal, (as per our very own U.S. Constitution) there will always be people who choose to go against the idea of equality and it is never fair. Usually the reasons for inequality are because of differences in such things as race or color or gender or even religious beliefs. Great Americans like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr. and Susan B Anthony, all fought for equal opportunities for those who were oppressed for being different. In 1955, Rosa Parks fought for the right as an African American woman to just ride on a bus in freedom. In 1872, Susan B. Anthony fought for the right for women to vote and began a speaking tour to communicate her belief and passion for women’s equality. Though her work would not become final until after her death in 1906, when the law was changed in 1920. The ones who typically judged those who were different didn’t care if they were good people or not, they cared about making themselves look better. My great share idea for the world is the age-old idea that we should all, all people, be given equal opportunities in life. I believe we should share the stories of Rosa and Susan B. and Dr. King and continue to share their legacy of freedom of choice and their passions for equal opportunity with the world.

In 1942, The Congress of Racial Equality became one of the leading activist organizations in the world and in 1948 President Harry Truman ended segregation in the U.S. military. Even though many things were happening to end racism, people were still very against this whole “everyone is equal” idea. Many people were murdered, riots were caused, and tension grew… and the fight for equality continues to this day.

Even though the concept of racial equality is a huge issue in our country and the world still, it is not even close to being the only equality issue out there. In the USA, women are finally recognized as equals to men by the majority of the nation. However, there are many negative stereotypes for women and minorities which still exist and keep equal opportunities from happening. I personally know of several women who have made huge impacts in our local community. My mom is past president of the Gatlinburg Rotary Club and sponsor of the GPHS interact club. Also, the Pittman Center Elementary principal, Miss Wendy Patterson, is an amazing leader and administrator at the school. Even though barriers still exist in society and in our world which prevent opportunities for minorities, those barriers, which may be race, creed, gender, or color related, are finally, slowly, being eliminated.

I believe, equality and it’s idea maybe shared worldwide through many different platforms. However, our greatest impact can begin locally with each of us as individuals, as we accept the differences of others and strive for equal opportunities for all. This idea of equal opportunity can certainly then become stronger in our school, and in our community, and in our state and nation, and finally, the world.

I like that you want to share the concept of equality. As a person who has existed in the powered majority in terms of race and in the powerless in terms of gender, I have experienced both sides of inequality. I have been part of the fight for women’s rights, and have, therefore, seen that no one must ever be satisfied until we all achieve equal rights for everyone. When I was young, it was all too easy to be complacent with my place in the powered majority in terms of my race, but when I faced inequality because of my gender, I realized how terrible any type of discrimination is. I’m glad that you shared this.

If I could share anything with the world, it would be the television show F.R.I.E.N.D.S. The reason why I would show this television show is because every time I turn it on, it makes me laugh so hard. The show is about a group of six friends who take on New York City together. They all live in apartments and have jobs. They’re always getting coffee at the shop below their apartments. The show is one of the greatest shows ever. I think that this show would bring more joy to the world because it will make people happier and laugh more.
The group of friends consists of three boys and three girls. My favorite character is Chandler Bing. He’s the sarcastic one in the group. He is always making fun of his friends or making a comment about someone else. He always cracks me up because he just says what he feels. He really doesn’t care what other people think, except if he’s on a date, then the whole game is changed. He works at an office building, but no one really knows what his job is. If I knew I would mention it. My second favorite character is either Phoebe Buffay or Joey Tribbiani. These two characters also crack me up. Phoebe is a girl who believes in what she thinks is right, she’s vegan, and she’s a masseuse. She’s very down to Earth and loopy. She’s super sweet but can snap in a second. Joey on the other hand is a struggling actor and is a hopeless romantic. He’s always trying to find dates or job offers. He has the looks but not the brains. He also loves food but does not like to share it. If anyone tried to steal his food he would attack them. Everybody knows that, “Joey doesn’t share food!” Joey is also very sweet and kind. He knows when something bad has happened to another friend and is ready to go to war for them right that second. He’s not the smartest, but he has the biggest heart out of all of them.
The show has so many great episodes, but if I could share one episode, I would share “The one with all the Thanksgivings.” This episode shows all of the characteristics of every friend. It takes place at Monica’s apartment on Thanksgiving day. The girls are in the kitchen cooking and the guys are in front of the television watching football. Phoebe walks over to the men and asks why they’re just sitting doing nothing. Of course, being the guys that they are, they laugh at Phoebe and give her a sarcastic answer. Of course she catches on to this and was kind of offended. She decided to ask them about football and why she couldn’t watch. The guys laugh again and ask her if she wanted to watch. She agrees and sits down for about five minutes then leaves. Monica caught onto what they were doing and decided to pester her older brother Ross about football when they were younger. This leads to a fight between the two, which is settled by a friendly game in central park. Towards the end of the game, the scores are tied and the girls have the football, Monica throws the ball to Rachel as “goes long” to catch it. Rachel catches it and thinks that she’s in the end zone and throws the ball down in celebration. The timer goes off and the girls think that they won the game and the bragging rights. Contrary to their belief, Rachel came short of the goal line. Monica and Ross realize this at the same time and both lunge for the ball. Both landing on it and struggling to get the other person off, the rest of the friends leave to go eat dinner, but Monica and Ross stay outside. They stay out there for a while then it starts to snow. The episode ends with Monica and Ross sitting in the snow. This episode can always make me laugh even when I’m having an off day.
This is what I would share with the world if I could make it a better place. The show can make me laugh so hard and happy on the worst days.
